Exposure and High Temperature Resistance Test Stand

Exposure and high temperature resistance test stand

Many testing standards require collectors and PV-modules to be exposed to sunlight for a defined period of time and intensity. Two-axis tracking test stands follow the sun and decrease the time needed for testing according to these standards. Data logging verifies the total exposure time and records maximum temperatures reached for high temperature resistance tests. To protect the collectors or modules and preserve ongoing tests, wind sensors are used to automatically drive the tracker into storm position when needed.

Key facts:

  • Flexible aluminum strut system for mounting collectors and modules
  • Tracking according to astronomical algorithms
  • Automatic stowing in storm position when certain wind speeds are reached

Options:

  • Combination with rain (e.g. thermal shock) test stand
  • Data acquisition, pyranometer and temperature sensors
  • Wireless data acquisition

Relevant standards
EN 12795 and ISO 9806-1
